Neurotoxin Injectables · Pickering, ON
Forehead, Frown Lines & Crow's Feet in Pickering, ON
Expression lines are a natural part of a life well lived — but when they become static and visible at rest, neurotoxin injections may help soften their appearance. At MVP Medical Aesthetics, Mia takes an anatomy-first, conservative-by-default approach so results look refreshed rather than frozen.
The Treatment
What Expression Lines Treatment Addresses
Neurotoxin (Botox or Dysport) is injected in small, precise amounts to temporarily reduce the muscle activity that causes repetitive creasing. The goal is softening — not elimination — of expression, preserving your natural movement while reducing the depth of lines at rest.
What it may help address
- Forehead lines — horizontal creases that form when raising the brows
- Frown lines (the "11s") — vertical glabellar lines between the brows from squinting or concentrating
- Crow's feet — lateral canthal lines that radiate from the outer corners of the eyes
- Lines that are visible at rest, not just during expression
- Preventative treatment for those noticing early dynamic lines
Good candidates
- Adults who want a more rested, refreshed appearance without looking "done"
- Those bothered by visible lines at rest, not just during movement
- Individuals in good general health with realistic expectations
- Not currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- No active skin infection at the treatment site
- No known allergy to botulinum toxin products
The Science
How Neurotoxin Works
Botulinum toxin (commonly known by brand names Botox and Dysport) works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that tell specific facial muscles to contract. When those muscles relax, the overlying skin is less likely to crease — and existing lines at rest may gradually soften with ongoing treatment.
Forehead lines, frown lines, and crow's feet are all driven by well-defined muscle groups: the frontalis for forehead movement, the corrugator supercilii and procerus for glabellar frowning, and the orbicularis oculi for eye-squinting. Each area requires a different injection pattern and dosing strategy — which is why anatomical knowledge matters as much as product familiarity.
At MVP Medical Aesthetics, Mia assesses your muscle strength, movement patterns, and facial proportions before determining placement and dose. The goal is always a result that looks natural in motion — not static or over-treated. Results may vary by individual.
Your Experience
What to Expect
Consultation & Assessment
Mia reviews your movement patterns, muscle strength, and aesthetic goals. She explains exactly where product will be placed, the dose rationale, and what a conservative first treatment looks like. No surprises.
The Treatment
A series of small, precise injections using a fine needle. Most appointments take 15–20 minutes. Mild pinching is common; most clients find it very tolerable. No anaesthetic is typically required.
Results & Longevity
Initial onset is typically 3–5 days, with full effect at 10–14 days. Results may last 3–4 months depending on individual metabolism and treatment area. A 2-week follow-up is offered to assess and fine-tune if needed.
Your Injector
Anatomy First. Conservative by Default.
Neurotoxin done well is invisible. Nobody should be guessing you've had something done — they should just think you look well-rested. Mia's approach is built around understanding the anatomy of your face before deciding on a single unit of product.
She trained as a registered nurse with a BScN and brings clinical precision to every appointment — assessing muscle depth, movement patterns, and asymmetry before anything else. Her default is always less, not more.

Common Questions
Expression Lines FAQ
-
Yes — and this is exactly what Mia designs for. The goal is softening, not freezing. By using conservative doses and precise placement, the muscles involved in natural expression continue to move; you'll simply notice that the associated lines are less pronounced. Heavily frozen brows or a completely expressionless forehead are the result of over-treatment — not what we aim for.
-
You may begin to notice the effect within 3–5 days, with the full result visible at around 10–14 days. Most clients find the treatment lasts approximately 3–4 months, though this varies based on individual metabolism, muscle mass, and the areas treated. Crow's feet tend to last a little longer than forehead treatments in many clients. Results may vary.
-
There is minimal downtime for most clients. Small bumps or mild redness at the injection sites typically resolve within 20–30 minutes. Bruising is possible, particularly around the crow's feet area near small blood vessels. Most clients return to regular activities immediately. You'll be advised to avoid lying down flat, intense exercise, and rubbing the treated area for 4–6 hours post-treatment.
-
Yes, and treating all three zones in the same session is very common — they're anatomically related and the dosing decisions for each area can influence the others. For example, treating frown lines and crow's feet without addressing the forehead can sometimes create unwanted heaviness; Mia considers these interactions when planning your treatment. Everything is discussed and agreed upon during your consultation.
