Cheek Fillers in Pickering, ON
As the mid-face loses volume with age, cheekbones flatten, the under-eye hollows deepen, and the face takes on a more sunken appearance. Cheek filler rebuilds that foundation — lifting the mid-face, restoring projection, and creating a more youthful, rested contour.
The Treatment
What Cheek Filler Can Address
Volumising hyaluronic acid filler is placed deep — typically on or near the cheekbone or in the mid-cheek fat pad — to restore or enhance projection, lift the overlying tissue, and soften the transition between cheek and under-eye.
What it may help address
- Flat or undefined cheekbones lacking natural projection
- Mid-face volume loss creating a sunken or aged appearance
- Hollowing beneath the cheekbone (submalar hollowing)
- Drooping of mid-face tissue contributing to jowl formation
- Desire for a more structured, sculpted facial contour
Good candidates
- Adults experiencing mid-face volume loss or wanting more cheekbone definition
- Those wanting structural lift without surgical intervention
- Clients in good general health with realistic expectations
- Not currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- Aware that deep-plane cheek filler requires precise anatomical placement
The Technique
Volume With Purpose
Cheek filler uses a volumising HA product — typically a denser, longer-lasting formulation — placed in the deep fat compartments or supraperiosteal plane (directly on bone). This structural approach creates support for overlying tissues rather than simply filling surface hollows.
The placement angle and depth determine whether the result reads as lifted, projected, or widened — each of which may suit different facial structures. Mia assesses your cheekbone anatomy, fat pad distribution, and the relationship between cheek and under-eye before selecting placement. Lateral (outer) cheek enhancement differs significantly from anterior (front) projection work.
Cheek filler sits close to significant vascular structures. Mia uses careful technique including aspiration and low injection pressure throughout. All product used is reversible HA. Results may vary.

What to Expect
Assessment & Design
Mia evaluates your facial structure — including cheekbone prominence, fat pad position, and skin laxity — to determine whether volume, projection, or lift is the primary goal. She'll show you where she intends to place product and why.
The Treatment
Injections using a cannula or needle into the deep cheek structures. A typical cheek treatment takes 30–45 minutes. Minimal pain; topical numbing or dental block may be offered for comfort. Bruising is less common with cannula technique.
Results & Longevity
Immediate lift and projection visible from the first appointment, with final results at 2–4 weeks once any swelling settles. Cheek filler typically lasts 12–18 months — longer than lip filler due to the lower-movement placement area. Results may vary.
Your Injector
Depth and Placement Determine Everything.
Cheek filler placed too superficially can look puffy rather than lifted. Placed at the wrong point of the cheekbone, it can widen rather than project. Getting it right requires understanding facial anatomy in three dimensions — not just surface contour.
Mia approaches mid-face filler as structural work: identifying the right plane, the right product, and the right volume for your specific bone architecture and tissue quality before placing a single millilitre.

Common Questions
Cheek Fillers FAQ
-
It can — if placed incorrectly or with too much lateral volume. Mia's goal is projection and lift, not width. She assesses your facial structure to determine whether anterior (front-projecting) or lateral (outer cheekbone) placement serves your proportions best. The aim is always a result that looks sculpted, not puffy.
-
Cheek filler typically lasts 12–18 months, making it one of the longer-lasting filler treatments. The reduced movement in this area means the product metabolizes more slowly. Results vary by individual metabolism and product used.
-
Indirectly, yes. Mid-face volume loss is one of the drivers of jowl formation — as the cheek deflates, overlying tissue sags. Restoring volume to the mid-face can provide a subtle lifting effect on the lower face. However, significant jowling driven by skin laxity may require a different approach, and Mia will be upfront about what cheek filler can and cannot achieve.
-
Most clients find deep cheek injections more comfortable than lip treatments. Topical numbing cream is applied beforehand, and cannula technique (where appropriate) reduces discomfort during the procedure. Some pressure or pushing sensation at the injection site is normal.
